... so that the world may believe - John 17:21

The servant said to Naaman, "If the prophet had told you to do something difficult, wouldn't you have done it?  So why not do the simple thing he told you?"  - 2 Kings 5:13

Naaman had leprosy and was told by the prophet Elisha to wash in the Jordan River to be healed.  Naaman became indignant because he was told to do such a simple, lowly thing.  But Naaman's servant urged him to put aside his pride and do what Elisha said.  Naaman did it and was healed.

Our salvation is like that.  It is so simple a child can do it. In fact, we have to humble ourselves like children to get saved.  We get saved  by simply believing in Jesus and asking Him to forgive us for our sins.

People want to do something hard to get salvation -- and the devil loves that. The devil wants salvation to seem so hard that bad people will stay away from it thinking they could never be good enough. At the same time, the devil wants it to seem so hard that religious people will pridefully think they've accomplished it on their own and then completely miss it.

The truth is your salvation is hard.  It's impossible.  But God did the impossible by sending Jesus to die in your place on the cross to pay for your sins.  It was hard for Jesus -- but now it's offered as a free gift to you.  You can't pay anything for it or do anything to deserve it -- you can only receive it like a child.

Listen to what Naaman's servant told him.  Put aside your pride and do what Jesus said. Believe Him.

Talk to God like this: "Jesus, I'm a sinner, but I believe You died for me on the cross to pay for my sins and give me Eternal Life.  Please forgive me. Transform me. Make me into the person that you want me to be. Amen!"
